Does the vote pass?
General resolution
PassesNeeds 3 yes out of the 4 votes cast.
Levies, the budget and most decisions. Fair Trading: one vote per lot, more than 50% for.
Special resolution
PassesNeeds 3 yes out of the 4 votes cast.
By-law changes. Passes with no more than 25% of votes cast against. Strata Schemes Management Act 2015 s. 5(1).
Unanimous resolution
FailsNeeds 4 yes out of the 4 votes cast.
Passes when no vote is cast against. s. 5(3).
Special resolutions count by unit entitlement. The results assume every lot has the same entitlement. Owners behind on levies cannot vote except on motions needing everyone.
