Meet Tera Development
Tera Development is a builder and developer based in Richmond, BC. The company is run by Claire Wang, Co-Owner and Executive Director, and Tom Huang, Co-Owner and Managing Director. The team lists nine people, including a VP of Development and Operations, a finance lead, and development coordinators.
Their first project, Otto, is a small set of duplex-style townhomes in West Richmond, finished in 2022. The homes use a Pacific Northwest look with clean lines, wood detailing, and custom millwork. Each home was built with heat-pump heating and cooling, added air circulation, and water filtering.
Otto won two awards at the 2024 HAVAN Awards for Housing Excellence: Best Multiplex Development and Best New Kitchen: Multi-Family Production Home. The project also won Best New Multi-Family Kitchen at the 2024 Georgie Awards (CHBA BC) and was a Georgie finalist for Best Infill Multi-Family Townhome Development and Best Landscape. Earlier, at the 2023 HAVAN Awards, Otto won Best Interior Design Display Suite and Best Primary Suite.
Tera is now building Aviary, a 36-townhome project near Richmond Centre, developed with Macdonald Projects. The homes are described as heritage-inspired, with a final release planned for early 2026.
