VictorEric Design+Build

VictorEric Design+Build was founded in Vancouver in 1997 by Eric Lee and Bruce Van Hunenstijn. Lee, the design director, studied at BCIT's Building Technology program and later trained in interior design; Van Hunenstijn, the general manager, has run construction for about three decades. The firm keeps design, interior design, landscape design, engineering coordination, permitting, and construction inside one company.

The firm built its reputation on custom homes and renovations, and has won Georgie, HAVAN, Ovation, and AWMAC awards for projects including the Cambridge, Cliffside, Coal Harbour, and Venturi residences. It also works in high-performance building, including Passive House design, and is behind the Panorama project in Harrison, BC.

Through its VictorEric Select Projects arm, started in 2014, the firm has developed small multi-unit residential projects such as the 11-unit Dickens at Kensington and the five-unit Lancaster Collection townhomes. That development experience now feeds its multiplex work.

Under Vancouver's R1-1 zoning and BC's small-scale multi-unit housing rules, VictorEric handles duplex, triplex, fourplex, and 6-plex projects. Named multiplex work includes a sixplex on Vancouver's West Side and four- and six-unit SSMUH projects in Burnaby. Their process covers zoning review, a feasibility study and proforma, design, permit applications, and construction.
