Meet Bush, Bohlman & Partners LLP
Bush, Bohlman & Partners LLP is a Vancouver structural engineering firm founded in 1976. The office is at Suite 1550, 1500 West Georgia Street in downtown Vancouver. In 2026 the firm marked 50 years of practice.
The firm works in wood, including mass timber and hybrid-timber structures. They were early adopters of cross-laminated timber (CLT) and engineered some of the first CLT buildings in British Columbia. That wood experience carries over to multi-unit residential and modular housing, where prefabricated panels and timber framing can shorten the build.
Managing partners Clint Low and Tim White spent 15 years helping develop the Seismic Retrofit Guidelines for BC Schools. Both have received the Lieutenant Governor’s Award of Excellence in Engineering. Tim White, Ph.D., P.Eng., sits on the Engineers and Geoscientists BC Technical Review Board Steering Committee, which advises on engineering practice for the province.
Most of the firm’s public portfolio is institutional: hospitals, schools, transit, and civic buildings. For a multiplex project, their value is the same engineering depth applied to a smaller building, plus direct experience with wood and modular construction that fits multi-unit infill.

Why work with Bush Bohlman
01
Mass timber and wood for multi-unit housing
The firm worked on some of the first cross-laminated timber buildings in BC and continues to use wood and hybrid-timber structure. For a multiplex, that means an engineer who knows how to detail timber framing and panelized systems.
02
Modular and prefabricated construction
Bush Bohlman lists modular construction among its services, including prefabricated solutions for housing. Modular and panelized methods can cut the on-site schedule on a small multi-unit build.
03
Seismic experience
The firm completed more than 100 seismic studies in the past decade and over 20 retrofits. Partners Clint Low and Tim White helped write the Seismic Retrofit Guidelines for BC Schools, so the team knows BC seismic requirements in detail.
